#MSCTorontoIsland – Some Tri and Some Du
Thanks to everyone who came out to our annual Toronto Island Triathlon and Duathlon. We hope you enjoyed your experience with us, and the spectacular views of the Toronto skyline on the Ferry ride back and forth from the Island. Racing on the flat and fast course on the Island is quite fun too!
Saturday’s Give-It-A-Tri featured a field mostly comprised of first timers, and we were glad that Mother Nature co-operated with great weather and 23 degree water temperatures – the warmest that we’ve ever experienced here. However, on Sunday, the winds kicked up and that made for unsafe swim conditions in Lake Ontario. So it was a duathlon for everyone – thanks to all of you for understanding our decision to keep everyone safe and rolling with the punches and making the best out of the day. In the end, we had two incredible days of racing at #MSCTorontoIsland.
SickKids Foundation Fundraising Goal Surpassed
In our inaugural year of partnering with the SickKids Foundation to raise funds to help change children’s health, we are happy to announce that we surpassed our $5000 goal with a total of $5697 raised!
You can still help build on that total and donate to the cause here.
Thanks to everyone who used their race to raise funds and to all who donated.
The top male and female fundraisers were Paul Graham – $1848.10, and Caroline Cathcart – $1470. Both have won a FREE entry to any 2016 or 2017 Recharge with Milk Triathlon Series presented by Skechers Performance race and will be contacted by our office staff.
Saturday August 20, 2016 – A Day Celebrating the First Timer
With over 80% of the field being first timers, let’s first say:
Congratulations to all of ALL of you! Welcome to the Triathlon Family. We hope to see you again soon.
