Pre-Race Newsletter – Woodstock Triathlon

We are very excited about our partnership with Recharge With Milk and the Recharge With Milk Triathlon Series! Look for the Recharge with Milk Team at the finish line for your sample of chocolate milk to help you refuel and recover!
Important Race Day Information
Please tell your friends that there will be race day registration.
Weather Forecast
We expect that wetsuits will be optional at Woodstock, however, we recommend you bring your own or a rental. Water Temperature in Pittock Lake Conservation Area was 63F or 17C when last checked, and we expect it to climb a few more degrees by Sunday.
Water Quality
Water Quality is Good. We are the only race series to have a Water Quality Guarantee. The Water Quality Guarantee Page has all the details.
Race Day Registration Process
In an effort to make your day go a little smoother we have put together a short video clip which highlights the process on race day. Please take a minute to view the video on MSCtv. You can also read the Race Day Guide, Racking By BIB Number and Racing Guide, all of which can be found in our Athlete Resource Section.
Racking by BIB number
Bikes are racked by BIB Number. The BIB numbers are assigned by age and gender so for most athletes that means you will be racked with people in your age group. If you are new to our races, please read the section in our Athlete Resource Library on Racking Your Bike
You’ve Been Shot and My Sports Shooter Free Zone
We are thrilled to be part of the MulitSport Family for our 11th year! Excitement is building as we move into a new era of photography service for all the participants! There are some amazing changes in how we are going to deliver you the BEST sports event photography in the country.
We will be adding a tent to the vendor event area where you can check out some info about us and our services as well as get a great FREE portrait done by one of our crew!

Volunteers
There can never be enough volunteers so please consider helping out on race day. Just drop by the Volunteer tent and we will be happy to find you a spot with our volunteer team. Our Racing Guide has all sorts of information including wetsuit or no-wetsuit swims, bike etiquette, course nutrition and rules. The race rules can also be found in our Athlete Resource Library.

Parking
Once you have entered Pittock Conservation Area proceed along the road down the hill and turn to your right. You will see the Transition Area and the lake on your left. Continue driving and on your left you will see grassy areas for parking with parking signs. Please follow the parking marshal’s directions. There are several of these parking areas. PLEASE DO NOT PARK ON THE ROAD as you will block access to the parking areas.

Getting There
- Travel West on Hwy 401 from the Greater Toronto Area
- Take exit 238 for Oxford Rd 2 toward Woodstock
- Merge onto Oxford Rd 2 W/King’s Hwy 2
- Travel 6.4 km on Oxford Rd 2 into Woodstock
- Turn Right at Vansittart Ave
- Continue onto Oxford Rd 59/King’s Hwy 59
- Turn Right at Pittock Park Rd
- Travel 1.4 km to Pittock Conservation Area Main Gates
- Turn Right into the Park
Park Admission Fees – MultiSport Canada has paid for all participant fees however spectators will have to pay admission to the park. We have negotiated a special rate of $5.00 per car (normally $11.00). Please let the staff know who is racing when you check-in at the main gate.
It is extremely IMPORTANT that you PARK in the GRASSY AREAS DESIGNATED for the race parking. There will be volunteers to guide you. Under no circumstances can you park on the road way.

Pre-Race Video
Ignition Fitness has once again teamed up with MultiSport Canada to bring you another season of MSCtv. In this episode, Tommy Ferris is back to present some great suggestions to follow when racing and managing yourself on a rolling or hilly course like the one you’ll find at the Woodstock triathlon and duathlon. Want to have a great race here? Follow these simple rules:
- start conservatively, finish strong
- don’t allow your heart rate to skyrocket
- don’t allow your power to spike hundreds of – watts above your target average keep your – effort and pace controlled
- find a rhythm early
- don’t overcook your legs in the hills
- recover and make up lost time in the downhill sections
- ride your regular pace in the flats (don’t try to make up lost time here)
The course preview video
