Happy Wednesday all!
We hope you are doing well and are excited about this weekend’s event.
We’re monitoring the air quality situation closely. Projections currently show the situation improving for the weekend as a new high-pressure system moves in.
As noted on one of the weather statements from Environment Canada for the area, conditions “can fluctuate over short distances and can vary considerably from hour to hour”. With that said, we will keep monitoring the situation and provide recommendations as race day approaches. At this point in time, we are not planning to cancel the event.
Having said that, we may suggest that participants with respiratory challenges take additional precautions (e.g. wearing an N95 respirator) if they feel that their participation in the event may be hampered by the air quality in the area on Race Day.
Look for more information tomorrow night in your “Final Notice” as well as on our News Feed and Social Media channels as the weekend approaches.
