Saturday June 22nd & Sunday June 23rd

Ontario’s Best Swim Venue

Qualifying Events:

  • Sprint Triathlon
  • Sprint Duathlon

View the Triathlon Canada Qualifying Events page HERE for full details.

Hosted at the Welland International Flatwater Centre (WIFC) and featuring Ontario’s Best Swim Venue, the Rose City (Welland) Triathlon is part of the nearly Forty (40) Year history of Triathlon events in Welland.

Our Long Course Events on Saturday serve as a perfect early summer event to prepare you for any longer events throughout the summer.

The event also features a FULLY CLOSED Bike Course on Sunday for the Sprint and Give-It-A-Tri Events.

Highlights

  • Elevated Transition Area that overlooks the Swim Course
  • Parking is available right next to the Venue.
  • Registration, Food, Awards, and Finish Line all close by each other
  • Great view opportunities for spectators

Includes

  • Locally Sourced Custom Finisher’s Medal
  • Race-Specific T-Shirt in a Casual Sport Cut
  • Professionally timed by Sportstats
  • Post Event Food, Draw Prizes, and Age-Group Awards
  • Multi-Race Discounts, as well as U23 (10%) and U18 (20%) Discounts

Swim Course

Think about swimming in a giant pool!  100m Wide and over 1km Long and that’s what it feels like!  There are already existing buoy lines to keep you swimming straight, so you can just keep your head down and SWIM!

Our Small Wave Starts – now for ALL Events in 2023 – makes for a stress-free start to your day.

Water temperatures tend to be in the 20-23C (68F to 74F) range, so wetsuits should be optional for this event.

Bike Course

On Saturday, the Long Course route heads south from Welland predominantly flat and quiet roads.  Wind can be a factor on this route as it goes towards the shores of Lake Erie.  This is SHARED ROAD Course, so be sure to follow all safe riding practices.  There will be a Bottle Drop at 40km with F2C Glyco-Durance in Bike Bottles as well as Water in Sport-top bottles.

On Sunday, The Sprint and Give-It-A-Tri use the roads right around the WIFC and feature FULLY CLOSED course.  The course is Fast and Flat with wide turnarounds at each end.  This is also a favourite with spectators as they are always close to the action!

Run Course

This is also by far our most spectator-friendly run course as it stays on the pathways around the WIFC.  The Long Course passes by the Grandstands twice each loop and the Sprint and Give-It-A-Tri feature great viewing opportunities around the Lap & Finish area.
