Athletes Brave the Wet, Wind and Cold

We all wished for better weather for the return of racing to the shores of Lake Simcoe and the Town of Georgina, but we truly admired all of you who decided to tough it out and race in the challenging weather. Special recognition goes out to all of the volunteers, they were the true Rock Stars of the day.

For those of you that missed it, the racers at Georgina braved non-stop rain in 10 degree Celsius temperatures, and faced winds in excess of 30 km/hr! Due to the high winds, the swim was cancelled and disc wheels were not allowed. The event became a duathlon (5km run, 20 km bike, 2.5 km run) for all sprint competitors, the Give-It-Tri became a 2km run, 10km run, 2km run event.

David Pubrat jumped right into the big puddle to kick off the first wave in fine style.

Thanks to all of you for supporting the Recharge With Milk Triathlon Series this year.
