Our Fourth Year At Belwood
In 2013, MultiSport Canada brought back the Belwood Triathlon and Duathlon, and on July 9th the fourth edition of the race saw another day of exciting racing.

A healthy snack that’s all apple with just a dash of indulgence.
The incredibly tasty Martin’s Apple Chips were a huge hit on Saturday. All of the sample bags were rapidly snapped up and enjoyed by everyone in attendance – especially the Chocolaty Drizzle flavour. Mmmmm…so good. A few lucky racers took home Martin’s Prize Packs too.
Laundry and Quick win again
Guelph’s Jackson Laundry won his second race in a row (he last won the Welland Long Course Triathlon), and Kitchener’s Angela Quick remains undefeated in the series with triathlon wins at Woodstock, Welland, and Belwood.

Moses and Beck win the #MSCBelwood Duathlon
Mississauga’s Garvin Moses and Richmond Hill’s Karri Beck both led from start to finish to capture their first ever overall Duathlon victories.

Special guest and World Class triathlete Cody Beals was on hand in Belwood to provide a clinic for all participants, and to answer questions before and after the race. Cody is one of the most intelligent and personable athletes on the circuit and we were grateful for his presence at the race that started it all for him 10 years ago.
Happy 200th Terry Singleton
Terry (pictured in the white hat and bib# 115) finished his 200th triathlon on Saturday, with many more to come. Congrats Terry!
A Salute To Three Inspirational Ladies
With all three of these impressive 60+ athletes competing at Belwood, this is a great time to throw some recognition their way. Lynda Lemon (pictured in red Team Canada uniform), Amy Mensch (Grey Team Canada uniform), and Janis Milliken (Ignition Fitness Tri Top) all regularly win their age groups when they compete and all did so again at Belwood. All have also represented Canada at various triathlon and duathlon World Championships – bringing home medals. Additionally, Lynda and Janis are both cancer survivors and as you can see, it hasn’t slowed them down one bit. Lynda and Amy regularly volunteer at our races and are responsible for the outstanding volunteer crew you experience at Welland and Barrelman. Thanks to all of you for your excellence and your dedication to our sport!

Congratulations to Jackie Stackelberg on being the Recharge With Milk Racers of the Day for Belwood. Jackie recovered from a tragic car accident and made a successful comeback to racing at Belwood. Jackie won a free entry to this race, Chocolate Milk for a month and a Recharge With Milk Swag Bag! Congrats on a great race and successful comeback Jackie!

We need volunteers to work in many different areas. When you sign up to volunteer you can choose the volunteer job that most interests you or most qualified for. Our Volunteer Coordinators will do their best to place you in your chosen area.

The Sprint and Standard distance Duathlons are part of Triathlon Ontario’s Double Du Challenge.
While The Standard Duathlon event will also have two automatic national qualification spots for each gender in each age division for the honour of representing Canada on home soil at the 2017 ITU Age Group Duathlon World Championships in Penticton, British Columbia.
