Niagara Falls Barrelman to Partner with Welland International Flatwater Centre

On Sunday, September 20, 2015, athletes participating in the second annual Niagara Falls Barrelman Triathlon will undertake the swim portion of their race at a World Class facility.  The Welland International Flatwater Centre (WIFC) will host race registration, swim-to-bike transition and the 2.0 km swim course.

Home to pristine waters, the newly built, award winning Flatwater Centre is pleased to make the 2015 Barrelman Triathlon an exciting addition to the impressive list of events, both international and national, taking place in the City of Welland.

“We are delighted to be working with the WIFC for our Barrelman in 2015 and beyond.  We believe the venue and course bring the event to a new level.” said Multisport Canada and Barrelman CEO John Salt.  “The team at WIFC have welcomed our event and share our vision for a first class athlete experience”

As the host and venue for multiple World Championships and more than twenty events annually, the venue, facilities and amenities provide a new look and feel to the September triathlon.  

“The Welland Recreational Canal Corporation (WRCC) is proud to be a part of the Niagara Falls Barrelman Triathlon and to be working with Multisport Canada,” expressed Executive Director of the Welland Recreational Canal Corporation and the WIFC, Stephen Fischer. “We look forward to utilizing the Flatwater Centre to provide an additional level of quality to the Triathlon.”
