2025 Welland Post Race Report
What a weekend in Welland for our Rose City Triathlon!
This special event has a rich history dating back to 1984 when it began as the Mike Burwell Memorial Triathlon. For the first 20 years, the event hosted an Olympic Distance Triathlon, and we were happy to be able to return to the event’s roots in 2025. The last time we hosted an Olympic Distance Event in Welland was in September of 2021 with a reduced individual start format.
Based on the tremendous response to the return of the Olympic Distance, we would like to thank all of you for contributing to what we felt was our most successful year yet.
From hot temps and breezy conditions all weekend, we experienced it all! The wind and the heat couldn’t stop anyone who raced from pushing their limits, testing their resolve, and achieving something they could be proud of.
We wanted to thank Ron and Lynda Lemon, our long-time volunteer coordinators in the Welland area, and everyone who volunteered to support our participants throughout the weekend.
We look forward to returning to Welland in mid-September for our Niagara Falls Barrelman. If you are looking for a great way to close off your 2025 season, consider joining us on Sept 14th for Barrelman – click HERE to register today.
We are looking forward to seeing many of you at another MultiSport Canada event this summer.
All the best,
Jason Vurma
President – MultiSport Canada
Congratulations to all who braved the start line in Welland!
