2014 – Woodstock Pre-Race Report

woodstockThank you for registering to race with us at Woodstock! A very special thank-you to our volunteer recruiters, Jennifer Wright, Laura Wall, Janet Thompson and Balance Point Training.

We are very excited about our partnership with Recharge With Milk  and the Recharge With Milk Triathlon Series!  Look for the Recharge with Milk Team  at the finish line for your sample of chocolate milk to help you refuel and recover!

Important Race Day Information

Please tell your friends that there will be race day registration.
*see our late registration policy for details when entering a race less than 10 days prior to event.

Bike Security

In order to ensure bike security every participant arriving to Woodstock race site will be stopped as they are initially entering transition and they will receive two (2) florescent bracelets. The first bracelet will be placed on the participant’s wrist and the second bracelet will be put on the participant’s bike. The two bracelets have matching numbers and in order to leave transition after the race is complete the participant must have both bracelets with the same matching number. You will be asked to show your bracelet on your wrist every time you enter transition.

Weather Forecast

Water Temperature & Water Safety:

Based on reports to date the prospect for a swim look good. The latest water temperature readings can be found on the Woodstock Event News.

Air temperature on Sunday morning is forecast at approximately 16C and climbing to 21C by noon hour. This combination of air and water temperature should result in a wetsuit optional swim. We recommend you bring a wetsuit regardless as the final decision is made race morning as per ITU rulings (pg 17).

If you need to rent a wetsuit you can contact D’Ornella’s Bike Shop in Toronto at 416-752-3838 who will be on site, or MultiSport Zone in London at 619-685-6600.

An example of the projected water and air temperature for race morning may look like:

Air Temperature: 14 degrees C

Water Temperature: 16 degrees C

Combination: 15 degrees C = Swim distance will not be altered

What is my option as a Give-It-A-Tri athlete if the water is too cold or I do NOT have a wetsuit?

MultiSport Canada will incorporate a Do-A-Duathlon option 1.5Km – 10km Bike – 2.5km Run. You can transfer to the Do-A-Duathlon at the Race Day Registration Tent on race morning. Series points will be based on BIKE and RUN portions ONLY. Awards on race weekend will be presented in ten (10) year increments for Give-I-A-Tri and ten (10) year increments for Du-A-Duathlon.

What is my option as a Sprint Triathlon athlete if the water is too cold or I do NOT have a wetsuit?

You can transfer to the Sprint Duathlon at the Race Day Registration Tent on race morning. Series points will NOT change. Awards on race weekend will be presented in five (5) year increments for Sprint Triathlon and ten (10) Year increments for Sprint Duathlon.

Water Quality

Water Quality is Good. We are the only race series to have a Water Quality Guarantee. The Water Quality Guarantee Page has all the details.

Race Day Registration Process

In an effort to make your day go a little smoother we have put together a short video clip which highlights the process on race day. Please take a minute to view the video on MSCtv. You can also read the Race Day Guide, Racking By BIB Number and Racing Guide, all of which can be found in our Athlete Resource Section.

Race Day Registration

Racking by BIB number

Bikes are racked by BIB Number. The BIB numbers are assigned by age and gender so for most athletes that means you will be racked with people in your age group and gender. If you are new to our races, please read the section in our Athlete Resource Library on Racking Your Bike

My Sports Shooter

BIG CHANGES TO PHOTOS!

mysportsshooter.comWith the changing of the sports photography market we are now happy to be working directly for MultiSport Canada!  After years of being a member of the MultiSport family as a photography provider, we are now happy to be part of the bigger picture (pun intended), and to supply the participants with a new and exciting service.
Your photos are now FREE and paid for by MultiSport Canada!  All images taken during the regular season events (with the exception of the Barrelman), will be FREE for you to share, tag and download directly from Facebook!  There will be no more external galleries, indexing or photo sales from the events and instead you will be able to access the photos shortly after the race directly from the MultiSport Facebook Page!
We will be organizing the galleries as conveniently as possible using time references, sections (swim, bike, run, candid, podium) and locations.  We will be bringing back a full customized image from your podium win that will include all the race statistics.  These images will be in the Facebook Gallery as well!
We hope this new service will bring a new level of enjoyment to your entire race experience!
Yours Sincerely for a 12th Year!

Parking

Once you have entered Pittock Conservation Area proceed along the road down the hill and turn to your right. You will see the Transition Area and the lake on your left. Continue driving and on your left you will see grassy areas for parking with parking signs. Please follow the parking marshal’s directions. There are several of these parking areas. PLEASE DO NOT PARK ON THE ROAD as you will block access to the parking areas.

MultiSport Canada has paid for all participant fees however spectators will have to pay admission to the park. We have negotiated a special rate of $5.00/spectator or $10/car. Please let the staff know who is racing when you check-in at the main gate.

It is extremely IMPORTANT that you PARK in the GRASSY AREAS DESIGNATED for the race parking. There will be volunteers to guide you. Under no circumstances can you park on the road way.
