Swim Course 

Swim from Hanlan’s Point Beach – a Blue Flag Beach with some of the best conditions in the GTA.  

Water temperatures tend to be in the 17-22C (62F to 72F) range, so wetsuits are very much recommended, but not required, for this event. 

Bike Course 

Staying on the quieter West side of Toronto Island, the course travels between Hanlan’s Point and Centre Island.  

Run Course 

A Multi-Loop Course that creates great energy and great camaraderie between participants!

Why do I need to purchase a Triathlon Ontario Membership or One Day Fee during registration?

Triathlon Ontario supports the development of safe multisport in Ontario. All participants are required to purchase a One Day Fee for an additional $8.00 OR provide a valid Triathlon Ontario Membership Number.

Why do I have to pay a processing fee with my registration?

Race Roster allows participants to select their desired event(s), enter personal information, and process payment. Log in to Race Roster to manage registration for your event(s), edit your email address, and set communication preferences. If you experience any errors or have questions about processing fees, please reach out to support@raceroster.com

Registration Dates & Deadlines

Register by Sunday, July 28th to receive a T-Shirt with the Event Logo, registrations received after Sunday, July 28th will receive a T-Shirt with our Series Logo.

Any Transfers or deferrals MUST be initiated and completed by 11:59PM on Wednesday, August 7th. See Registration Info HERE.

Register by Sunday, August 11th to receive a personalized bib with your name. Registrations received after Sunday, August 11th will receive a non-personalized race bib.

Registration closes on Wednesday, August 14th at 12PM. No race day registrations are offered.

Communication

The Pre-Event Notice will be sent on Wednesday, August 7th by 9PM. It will contain important info such as Course Details, Final Event Schedule, Retailers in Attendance, and other tips for the event.

The Final Event Notice will be sent on Thursday, August 15th by 9PM. It will contain important information such as your Bib Number, Wave Start Time, Water Temperature, and Parking Suggestions.    

The Post-Event Report will be published in the News Feed in the middle of the week following the event. We will send notifications to all registered participants as well as include a social media post. A Post-Event Report will contain links to our photo galleries, results, and any other articles written about the event.

Start Details

All Triathlon Events, including Give-it-A-Tri and Sprint Events, will feature Wave Starts of 30-40 Athletes every 8-10min from Hanlan’s Point Beach.

The Give-It-A-Tri will be numbered Youngest to Oldest.  The Give-It-A-Tri will see Wave Starts from 8:00AM until just after 9:00AM

To create a Safe, Fun, and Fair event, during registration for the Sprint Triathlon events we asked for your Projected Finishing Time.  We will use these Projected Finishing times to create the Start Waves.

The Sprint Triathlon will see Wave Starts every 4-5min from 8:00AM until just after 9:30AM from Hanlan’s Point Beach.

Those in the Sprint Triathlon who selected Group 1 (1:12hr and Under) will have the lowest numbers and start earliest.  Those who selected Group 2 (1:13 to 1:18) will be next in the number order and so forth up to Group 10.

The Sprint Duathlon will feature Small Wave Starts from the Finish Line from 8:15AM

IMPORTANT – Start times have returned to 8:00AM for the first wave on both days.

Regular Ferry Service begins at 6:45AM to Hanlan’s Point with sailings at 7:15AM, 7:45AM, etc.

We recommend that you arrive at the Ferry Terminal with enough time to pick up your Bib and catch a ferry that departs 90 minutes before the start of YOUR race.

Buying your ticket in advance does not guarantee priority boarding on any Toronto Island Ferry. You are responsible for arriving on time at the venue.

Water Bottles – Please bring your own water bottle with you. The City of Toronto has banned plastic water bottles, so water in bottles will not be served as part of the post-race food. Water in jugs will be available for your water bottle after the race. Pop is also served with post-race food.

Parking – There is plenty of parking in and around the Westin Harbour Castle Hotel. Please look (or google in advance) for the City of Toronto “Green P Parking”. There is also private parking sites located within a walking distance of the ferry docks.

Parking Downtown Toronto is available on a first-come first-service basis.  If you plan to drive, please account for a walk from wherever you find Parking to the Jack Layton Ferry Terminal.

Volunteering

Click HERE sign-up to join us as an Event Volunteer.  You can choose from a variety or roles and request the one(s) that interests you most. All Volunteers are provided with a High-Vis Event Shirt and Lunch afterward.

Parking

The ferry terminal is behind the Westin Harbour Castle on Queens Quay. There is plenty of paid parking available in the area.

Getting There

  • Gardiner Expressway to Downtown Toronto
  • Exit at Spadina (if Eastbound) or Exit at Sherbourne/Jarvis(if Westbound)
  • Travel South to Queens Quay
  • Take Queens Quay towards Bay St
