Course Details

Swim – 750m

bracebridge_sprint_swimThe Swim Course begins at the main dock in Annie Williams Park.  Swimmers will start in Bib Number order (Youngest to Oldest) on Five second intervals.

Athletes will swim down-river (with the current) for the first 325m, turn left and swim 30m across the river, left again and swim 365m up-river (against the current) and then left once more and swim across the river for 30m and exit the Muskoka River for the 20m run-up to transition.

Average water temperature this time of year is in/around 76F.


Bike – 20km

2015_bracebridge_20km_bike 0 to 10km – You will exit Transition to the Mount line located on the paved path within Annie Williams Park. There is a section of approximately 100m within the park that is a NO PASSING section. Please respect the fact that passing in this section could be dangerous. You do not know the bike handling skills of other cyclists. Once you get to the entrance to Annie Williams Park you will be directed to turn LEFT onto Santa’s Village Road.

The course heads west out of Bracebridge on Santa’s Village Road/Golden Beach Road with the 10km Turnaround prior to reaching Muskoka Rd 118. There are several residences on this section of the course so ride with care. This section of the course features rolling terrain on winding roads.

10km to Finish

After the Turnaround you will follow the same route back to Annie Williams Park. There are several residences on this section of the course so ride with care.


Run – 5km

Gently rolling out and back course around the Muskoka River.

You will exit the back of Transition and immediately turn LEFT to run on the grass with the tree line on your right. There is a slight incline here as you run towards Santa’s Vilage Rd. You will exit Annie Williams Park through the gate which is a small secondary park entrance/exit. Once you reach the road you will TURN RIGHT and run in the coned lane with the cones on your left until you reach Wellington St. S. At Wellington you will TURN RIGHT running in the coned lane, across the bridge until you reach Beaumont Dr where you will TURN RIGHT. This is approximately the 800m point in the run. You will then cross to the LEFT SIDE of Beaumont Dr. so that you are running FACING TRAFFIC. Beaumont is a winding road so please stay to the left and be aware that there are vehicles on the course.
