Duathlon is a family event to us. We train together, qualified and competed as Team Canada athletes at the 2017 World Championships together, and raced in and spread our enthusiasm at every MultiSport Canada race we competed in together! Multi Sport Canada is a love affair for both of us, and as we head into our 2018 season which will find us competing in most of the MultiSport Canada races and at the 2018 World Championships in Denmark, we thought why not infectiously spread and share our enthusiasm and passion for MSC and it’s events together too.
I am excited to volunteer at all of my races and have tried to participate by lending a helping hand throughout the 2017 race season. I hope to influence and inspire others and feels strongly about Ambassadors getting in the trenches and playing a visible role at races. Some of my best moments at races have been helping out new athletes with transition hints or race tips thereby relieving some of those pre-race jitters! I am almost more excited for first time racers than I am for my own race. I hope to relay my enthusiasm about MSC in every conversation, interaction and connection I have with current and potential MultiSport Canada athletes.
After a lifetime of the ‘standard’ team sports like hockey, baseball, football, soccer and rugby, I am truly enjoying an individual sport where pushing through training and races gives you an idea of your physical and mental limits. At the same time, MSC does a great job of promoting a fun and team-like felling for racers of all levels before and after the events.
I am looking forward to a great summer of racing and meeting new people. Please come find me anytime with questions or if you want to chat about something totally unrelated to get your mind off of your pre-race nerves 🙂 . And most of all, everyone loves a smile, wave or ‘good job’ out on the course!
