Clubs and Coaches Rewards Program

We have developed a new program that we hope will introduce more people to Triathlon and Duathlon while showing support for all Triathlon/Duathlon Clubs and multisport coaches. The MultiSport Canada Club Reward system will reward clubs for their participation at MultiSport Canada events and allow your club to raise money for club purposes or give back to your members. The simple premise is the more racers from a club the more that MultiSport Canada will donate to your club. We will even look at a club donation if you are able to bring a large group of volunteers to any one race. Please contact us for details.

Please note that the Clubs Rewards Program will NOT be in effect for the OAT Club Championships in Gravenhurst. MultiSport Canada will instead be donating the rewards money back to OAT. OAT will be awarding performance and participation Prize Money for the Club Championships. Details are on the OAT website.

The discounted money will go back to the club/coach based on the following formulas:

We've tried to make this as easy as possible for you to administer. Here is how it will work:

  1. All entries must have the club's name CLEARLY noted.
  2. All Clubs/Coaches will be responsible for submitting a list of their athletes to MultiSport Canada at the beginning of each race season and no later than May 1st.
  3. Discount only applies to adult races. No KOS entries.
  4. All policies with respect to late fees apply

There are two ways for you to enter a race and receive your discount.

Option #1
Prior to each race a package of all applications, for a particular race, is mailed or faxed with full payment to MultiSport Canada. MultiSport Canada will confirm applications are from your club membership list (see above) and write a cheque to the club/coach in an amount equal to the discount rate.

Option #2
The club or coach sends a list to MultiSport with the names of all the people who are racing at a particular race. This list must be received 10 days prior to race weekend. This list must also be from athletes who were on the original membership list (see above) submitted to MultiSport Canada prior to May 1st every year. Your members/athletes can then register online. MultiSport Canada will then audit back to the submitted list and write a cheque to the club/coach.

The University MultiSport Challenge - Bragging Rights Are On The Line!

MultiSport Canada has always tried to encourage participation and help develop the sports of Triathlon and Duathlon. We were the first to develop a Club Rewards program, the first to have a Season Long Draw that rewards participation and have developed several innovative concepts such as Team Triathlon in Calabogie Peaks. We are also very proud of the fact that we have sponsored the University of Western Ontario Triathlon Club in the University MultiSport Series for the past five years.

In keeping with the spirit of sport development and "fun" we have developed the University MultiSport Challenge. This is a summer long program that will reward participation, volunteerism and performance with "bragging rights" of being the University MultiSport Challenge Champion. The concept is very simple. University Teams will get points based on participation, volunteering and performance in several HSBC Triathlon Series races. We hope this program will encourage UMS team members, who were exposed to the sport during the winter, and keep them involved with the sport. They don't need a fancy and expensive bike or all of the "gear", the only requirement is to enjoy yourself.

Here is the program:

Points will be awarded in two areas and totalled over the summer. The winning team will receive a 24"x36" team picture (taken at Wasaga Beach on September 8, 2007) or a collage of race pictures from the summer of 2007 these can be taken from Mike Cheliak’s (our photographer) website.

The two categories are :

  1. Participation Category - One Participant or One Volunteer at ANY HSBC Triathlon Series Race = 1 Point

  2. Performance Category - For the following races: Lakeside Sprint, Cobourg Sprint, Toronto Island Triathlon and Wasaga Beach Olympic

Top Three UMS Racers in each race, Add up the Places of the Overall Placing of the racers to get a total (i.e. 4th, 12th, 24nd = 40pts) and the lowest total wins. The Wasaga Beach results will be divided by two so that those results have more impact on the total.

We have tried to make sure that while this is a performance award it is one that represents the effort of the entire team. As many of the 3rd racers on a team will be outside the Top-10 overall, it make their placing just as important as the top finisher on the team. It also means that a team MUST have three racers at a give race to score points. That way one, or two, ringers don’t win the award. Though it is a performance award, it is still at TEAM performance award.

If you are entering any race please make sure you use the drop down menu on the online registration page and choose your club name.
