The Lakeside Shot Of The Race is "A Welcome Back To Kirk Nielsen"

After a two year absence, while he battled cancer, Kirk Nielsen returned to race in the Lakeside Give-It-A-Tri. Kirk was with us on race day at the first ever MultiSport Canada race in Orangeville in May 2002. Over the next three years Kirk was a regular at our races, always with a big smile and having a great time. During the past two years he battled cancer yet he still tried to visit us when he could. Last year he was at the Gravenhurst race to cheer on his good friend Kent Parkinson. On Sunday morning Kent told us that Kirk was hoping to join us and return to competition. Not only did he return, he ended up third overall in the Give-It-A-Tri.
